Commercial Pads

8”

8” concrete pad is the average thickness for commercial slabs. Commercial concrete floors are usually engineered, which means they aren’t always the same. They will change depending on what the floor is going to be used for and what the engineered blueprints require. Generally, an 8” concrete floor will include 10-12” of wet and compacted 3/4” down gravel. Compaction will then be tested to insure it is sufficient.  Formwork will then be erected to establish heights for the floor. Rebar will be installed, usually its two layers of 15mm rebar at 12-16” on center. Concrete will then be poured and gets a power trowel finish.
